Introduction

DNB A PRESTIGIOUS PROGRAMME - A FEATHER IN THE CAP :

DNB Diplomate in National Board, is a Post Graduate Medical course on par with MD Pediatrics. Based on the advanced and modern facilities with which the hospital is equipped, the government of india recognized this hospital and accredited the DNB post graduate course in this hospital. It is hence a matter of pride to project the hospital with the status of a post graduate educational institution. Sri Ramachandra Children’s & Dental Hospital, being the only hospital in the guntur district having this rare honour, consolidate itself as a topper and a crown.

Eligibility:

Candidates who are in possession of MBBS degree/Provisional Pass Certificate recognized as per the provisions of the Indian Medical Council Act 1956 and possess permanent / provisional registration certificate of MBBS qualification issued by the Medical Council of India and have completed one year of internship.

Selection Procedure:

CENTRALIZED MERIT BASED COUNSELING:

Candidates who qualify the PG NEET exam conducted by NBE and fulfill the eligibility criteria for admission to DNB (Primary) courses at various NBE accredited Medical Colleges/Institutions/Hospitals in India shall participate in the counseling for allocation of seats on merit cum choice basis.

THESIS / DISSERTATION :

Candidates will be required to submit a thesis/dissertation 6 months before taking the Final Examination. The Thesis/Dissertation protocol would have to be submitted to the Controller of Examinations of the National Board through the Head of the Institution within two months of joining the training in the institution.

As a second-year DNB pediatric resident at Sri Ramachandra Children's Hospital in Guntur, I remain steadfast in my choice of this institution, especially due to the invaluable guidance and encouragement from Dr. T.C. Reddy, Dr. Lokeswari, and Dr. Sravani. These mentors have played pivotal roles in shaping not just our medical skills but also instilling a profound sense of ethics and emergency management in us.

Their dedication to fostering an atmosphere conducive to learning and ethical medical practices has significantly influenced our growth as pediatric residents. Throughout my second year, their mentorship has enhanced the hands-on experience, ensuring exposure to a diverse range of cases and procedures, thereby sharpening our clinical acumen and preparing us for managing critical pediatric emergencies.

The structured curriculum, coupled with their guidance, has not only deepened my understanding of pediatric medicine but has also emphasized the importance of ethical conduct and effective emergency management. The encouragement provided by Dr. TC Reddy sir, Dr. Lokeswari ma'm and Dr. Sravani ma'm in research endeavors and active participation in academic discussions has been instrumental in nurturing a passion for continuous learning and ethical medical practices. Sri Ramachandra Children's Hospital, with these exemplary mentors, has provided an outstanding foundation for my career in pediatric medicine.

I Dr Amrita Koti, DCH from CPS Medical collage, Mumbai joined SRCDH in Jan 2019 (batch) for secondary DNB in pediatrics.

SRCDH: A place that brings back a lot of memories along with the memories, the most important thing is the education that we received. Education is imparted in every institute but right use of it so called “wisdom” which comes only here. Right way of life with discipline, and most importantly humanity are the equalities practiced here, and the same is imparted to every student here, which provides a building block that is necessary to build a powerful career in years to come.

Regarding academics, may be theory preparation or practical, even the daily practicing teachings needed for a building doctor, all together is here, the team of consultants working hard round the clock to make us to achieve, excellence in everything we do.

After my expression to work for a new research at nice i was provided all facilities to do it at SRCDH.

To meet the expectations when the same work was presented, at IAP, Pedicon. I was awarded 1st prize for the paper. This was all due to the support and the confidence the mentors at the institute. For students planning to join the institute is a word of completion.

From the very beginning of my DNB Pediatrics program, Sri Ramachandra Children's and Dental Hospital, Guntur has consistently exceeded my expectations. The faculty, composed of experts in their respective fields, are not only highly knowledgeable but also extremely dedicated to nurturing the potential in each of their students. Their passion for teaching and commitment to our success have been a driving force in my education.

The hands-on training and exposure to diverse clinical cases have been invaluable in shaping our clinical skills and critical thinking abilities.

The academic and emotional support I have received from both my peers and the faculty has been crucial in helping me navigate the challenges of this rigorous program.

As I prepare to take my final steps towards graduation, I feel confident and well-prepared for the challenges that lie ahead in the world of pediatrics. Regarding this institute -- This is one the best institute. In this institute professors are very friendly, and take care of us like a family. They guide us in each & every situation. They allow us to attend all CME’s & Workshops. Regarding academics, we used to have daily seminars and case presentations. Our HOD sir tried to teach each and every topic from Nelson. Regarding procedures – free hand was given in all procedure including intubations I felt myself blissful to be a part of this institute where teachers take care of the students like their own children.
